A member of the original NWT Cross Country Ski team, under the guidance of Father Mouchet and the Territorial Experimental Ski Training program, Antoine competed in the first Canada Winter Games in Quebec City in 1967, where he placed 7th - a breakthrough for NWT skiers at the national level. He was awarded the Tom Longboat medal for his impressive showing at those games. The Tom Longboat medal is given to Canadian Aboriginal athletes who excel in their chosen sport.
