NWT Gymnastics sent a team of 6 female gymnasts to compete at the 2018 Western Canadian Gymnastics Championships in level JO8 (Junior Olympic – Level 8) in Spruce Grove, AB April 26 - 28.

The team has been training all season for this competition and made sure to end the season with some impressive results. The highlight was Emma Leathem placing 2nd on the Uneven Bars! She has had a strong bar routine at other competitions all season long but managed to peak at the right time and pull off an excellent routine, even sticking her landing and scoring 9.225 out of 10.0 for silver, only 0.10 off from the gold medal! This is the first medal for the NWT on the Uneven Bars at Westerns.
