March 16, 2015 (Yellowknife, NT) - This past weekend, NWTASSA was very proud to be represented by Hannah Clark (Yellowknife Speed Skating Club) at the National Team Selections 2 held at the Olympic Oval in Calgary.  This competition wraps up the season and determines the final rankings amongst the top 32 male and female skaters in the country (not including the five member World Championships team).  Clark, coming off an injury earlier in the season placed a very respectable 26th with her best finish of 23rd in the 1500m event.  This ranking will carry Hannah into next season. Sochi Olympians Charle Cournoyer and Francois Hamelin also skated in the competition.

Skaters will compete in the following distances:
  • 200m pursuits
  • 400m
  • 1500m
  • 3000m
  • Team relays

NWTASSA is very proud of the young skaters heading to this competition.  They have been training hard all season for this final event and are looking forward to exciting races against top skaters from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon.
